About Us

Diane Parker

Hello, my name is Diane Parker and I am a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, Motivational Life Coach and Mindfulness Coach. In July 2017 I became a Grief Recovery Specialist and am qualified as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy) practitioner.

All of what I have achieved as a career has been due mainly to the amazing family that I have. Never have I needed to use the techniques I teach to others, on myself so much as I had to those 20 months.

In July 2016, I became a Widow. Three months later my sister was diagnosed with Cancer passing in September 2017. In between these two losses, in July 2017 I became a Grief Recovery Specialist.

This helped me by finding peace with my own loss, by letting go of my “hopes dreams and expectations” of my future with my husband. This released the pain that I was carrying in my heart. I cried as much as I did the day I lost him, but was soon filled with a lovely warm connection which left me feeling loved.

Now in a place of healing, I was in a much better position to help my family, my sister and her children prepare for her death, by nurturing their own journeys as we all prepared ourselves to say “goodbye” to her.

You can read my full story on my blog page.

Who I am

Hi, I’m Robert, a qualified Grief Coach and part of Life After Loss.

Supporting and listening to people has been a thread throughout much of my life. I spent more than 30 years working in retail, where connecting with people from all walks of life taught me the importance of patience, understanding and treating everyone as an individual.

For 13 years, I was also a member of Samaritans, giving my time to listen to and support people through some of life’s most difficult moments. This experience strengthened my belief in the value of simply being present – listening without judgement and giving someone the space to be heard.

I also bring personal experience of loss and significant life change. Having been through divorce, I understand something of the emotional impact that comes when the life you knew, and the future you imagined, suddenly changes. I also experienced this transition as a parent, supporting my children as they adjusted to changes within our family.

These experiences, together with my professional training as a Grief Coach, have shaped the compassionate and down-to-earth way I support people today.

What I do

As a Grief Coach, I support people who are navigating grief, loss and significant life change.

Grief can enter our lives in many different ways. It may follow the death of someone we love, but we can also grieve the end of a relationship, divorce or separation, changes within our family, retirement, redundancy, changes to our health, or simply the loss of the future we thought we were going to have.

There is no single way to experience grief and no timetable for how you “should” be feeling.

My role isn’t to tell you how to grieve or to try to fix what has happened. It is to walk alongside you, helping you understand what you are experiencing, explore what you need and, when you are ready, begin to discover what moving forward might look like for you.

How I can help

Sometimes we need somewhere we can talk openly without worrying about burdening family or friends – somewhere we don’t have to pretend that everything is okay.

I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk about your loss and the changes it has brought to your life.

As your Grief Coach, I can support you to make sense of what you are feeling, recognise the impact loss is having on different areas of your life and gently explore ways of moving forward at a pace that feels right for you.

I bring together my Grief Coach training, more than 30 years of experience working with and supporting people, 13 years with Samaritans, and my own lived experience of divorce and supporting children through family change.

Above all, I bring a willingness to listen.

Life after loss may not look like the life you had imagined. Together, we can begin to explore what comes next.
